Harry

Is that 45 degree bias UD carbon I see? and if so what is it for.

Oven looks the dogs... Just the job. Who gave you that Idea?....

Make sure it all says FUN and I will look forward to seeing the results soon.

Morning Boys and Girls,

I thought it was about time I made my presence felt.

Harry, progress continues at a frightening pace. I'm stunned by what you're acheiving and I can't wait to come down again and start making a contribution.

Chalster, that 45degree UD carbon cloth is what I'm using to make some wings out of. If it works well, I was going to give you one, to say thanks.
My thinking is that carbon, like many materials, is strongest when the loads act along the length. With woven cloth, the strength must be reduced as the fibers are constantly changing direction (due to the weave). With the UD cloth, the fibers are all in line and all giving 100%. This should mean that we get stronger wing (greater torsional strength) or we could use a lighter cloth.

Well thats the theory. Now we'll just have to see if I'm talking b******s.

Anyway, I hope you're all well. Merry Christmas,

Andy
